Early Life and Career
Farhad Veliyev, an Azerbaijani footballer, began his journey into the world of soccer at the tender age of 12. He spent his formative years honing his skills at the Sumgayit Children's Football School, under the guidance of coaches Tofig Rzaev and Aghamusa Bagirov.
Professional Career
Veliyev's professional career took off in earnest when he joined FC Sumgayit, a premier league club in Azerbaijan. He went on to play for a number of other clubs, including Shakhdag Quba, Vilash Masalli, Neftchi Baku, Gandzasar Kapan, Inter Baku, and most notably, Qarabağ FK, which he joined in 2007.
National Team Debut
Veliyev's national team debut came on February 28, 2006, in a friendly match against Ukraine. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.
Achievements and Honors
Throughout his career, Veliyev has achieved numerous accolades, including:
- Azerbaijani Champion: 2004, 2014
- Azerbaijani Cup Winner: 2009- Bronze Medalist in the Azerbaijani Championship: 2001
In 2008, Veliyev was recognized as the second-best goalkeeper in the Azerbaijani Premier League by apasport.az and the Professional Football League of Azerbaijan. Additionally, he was awarded the second prize of the Sergei Kramarenko Award, established by Neftchi Baku, as the second-best goalkeeper for the 2007/08 season.
