Early Life and Education

In Germany, Zaimoglu pursued studies in medicine and fine arts. He resided in Berlin and Munich until 1985, before settling in Kiel, where he currently lives.

Literary Debut and Career

Zaimoglu made his literary debut in 1995 with his poetry collection "Kanak Sprak" ("Kanak Language"), which explored the experiences of second and third-generation immigrants in Europe. His writing often reflects the perspectives and themes of immigrant communities.

Journalism and Collaborations

Beyond his literary work, Zaimoglu has been a prominent journalist for renowned German newspapers such as Die Zeit, Die Welt, and Der Tagesspiegel.
