Parliamentary Career and Government Roles

From 1909 to 1940, Bouisson served as a deputy for Bouches-du-Rhône in the French Parliament. In the second government of Georges Clemenceau (1918-1919), he held the position of Minister of Maritime Affairs and Merchant Marine. Subsequently, he became President of the Chamber of Deputies (National Assembly) from January 11, 1927, until June 1, 1935.

Brief Premiership and Opposition

On June 1, 1935, Bouisson was tasked with forming his own cabinet, in which he assumed the role of Minister of the Interior. However, his government lasted only a week due to strong opposition to his candidacy.

From 1928 to 1934, Bouisson served as President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
