Early Life and Episcopal Career
Fernando Vérgez Alzaga was appointed Titular Bishop of Villamagna in Proconsulari on October 15, 2011. Subsequently, on August 30, 2013, he assumed the role of General Secretary of the Governorate of Vatican City State, serving in this capacity until October 1, 2021. During his tenure as Titular Bishop, he was elevated to the rank of Titular Archbishop on September 8, 2021.
