Biography of Fidel Escobar

Fidel Escobar is a Panamanian footballer who plays as a defender for the club "New York Red Bulls" and the Panama national team. He began his career at the club "San Francisco". On April 28, 2013, he made his debut in the Panama championship against "Chepo". On October 27, in a match against "Chorrillo", Fidel scored his first goal for "San Francisco". In early 2014, Escobar moved to "Sporting San Miguelito". On February 6, in a match against "Arabe Unido", he made his debut for the new club. On March 16, in a match against "Alianza", Fidel scored his first goal for "San Francisco". In the summer of 2016, Escobar joined Lisbon's "Sporting". To gain playing practice, he started playing for the reserve team. On August 6, in a match against "Portimonense", he made his debut in the Segunda Liga.

In the summer of 2017, Fidel was loaned to the American club "New York Red Bulls". He made his debut in MLS in a match against "Portland Timbers".

International Career

In 2015, as part of the Panamanian youth national team, Escobar won the silver medal in the CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Jamaica. He played in matches against teams from Mexico, the United States, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago. In a match against Mexico, Fidel scored a goal. In the same year, Escobar participated in the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand. He played in matches against teams from Argentina, Austria, and Ghana. He scored a goal in matches against Argentina and Austria. In the same year, Escobar represented the Olympic national team in the Pan American Games in Canada. He played in matches against Peru, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil. He scored a goal in matches against Brazil and Peru.

On February 8, 2015, Escobar made his debut for the Panama national team in a friendly match against the United States. In 2016, Escobar was included in the national team squad for the Copa America in the United States but did not make an appearance. On November 11 of the same year, in a qualifying match for the 2018 FIFA World Cup against Honduras, Fidel scored his first goal for the national team.

In 2017, Escobar participated in the CONCACAF Gold Cup. He played in matches against Martinique, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica.
