Filar Galchev, the owner of "Eurocement" company, has always aspired to create his own company. Filar Galchev was born on May 26, 1963, in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. He obtained his higher education degree in 1991 from the Moscow Institute of Mining. Shortly after, he becomes a leading specialist in commercial affairs at the Skachinsky Institute. In 1992, he holds the position of CEO at the International Trade House of the Mining Industry. During these years, Galchev gains significant influence in the business community.

Career and Achievements

In 1993, Galchev is appointed as the head of the coal market organization department in the "Rosugol" company. He aspires to create his own company due to his extensive experience in business and numerous business connections. Thus, he establishes "Rosuglesbyt", which is later renamed "Eurocement".

Today, "Eurocement Group" produces cement of all kinds and consists of more than 15 smaller plants. The company has representations both in Russia and abroad. Its main clients include leading construction companies, precast concrete plants, and individual developers. Since 2004, the company's plants have been actively modernized and production of cement has been improved. Large sums of money, such as 511 million rubles in 2004 and over 1.5 billion rubles in 2005, are being invested in these endeavors.

The quality of the cement produced at these plants meets the requirements of the strictest commissions and inspections. Alongside the technological equipment improvement, efforts are made to facilitate the work of the workers. Maximum efforts are made to create a lighter and more automated labor process. Everything possible is being done to create a more environmentally friendly production. In 2006, the total amount of cement produced reached 27 million tons, and the company's revenue for 2005 amounted to 36 billion rubles. Currently, the company's plants produce 35 million tons of cement and 2 million cubic meters of concrete per year.

Controversies and Recognition

The "Eurocement Group" has been accused of having a monopolistic position in the market on multiple occasions. In 2006, the company was fined 267 million rubles by the Federal Antimonopoly Service, which is one of the largest fines in the history of the antimonopoly service.
