Early Career

Philip Helander began his football journey with Malmö FF, his hometown club. He made his professional debut in the Allsvenskan league on September 8, 2011, against Gefle. In 2013, Helander celebrated his first major achievement with Malmö, winning the Swedish Championship. The following year, he added another league title and the Swedish Super Cup to his list of accomplishments.

Move to Italy

In the summer of 2015, Helander moved to Italy to join Hellas Verona. He debuted in the Serie A in September, facing Inter Milan. His first goal for Verona came weeks later against Lazio. At the end of the season, Helander transferred to Bologna.
