Birth and Early Life

Felipe Luis Casmirsky was born on August 9, 1985, in Jaraguá do Sul, Brazil. Of Polish descent, his ancestors immigrated to Brazil from Poland in 1891.

Club Career

Youth and Early Transfers

Felipe Luis began his football journey at Figueirense. After 24 appearances and one goal, he moved on loan to Ajax in 2004 but did not make a first-team appearance. In 2005, he signed with Uruguayan club Rentistas but was immediately loaned out to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid and La Coruña

Felipe Luis spent a year with Real Madrid Castilla before being loaned to Deportivo La Coruña. His impressive performances earned him a two-year contract with the Spanish club in 2008.

Athletic Injury and Transfer to Atlético Madrid

In 2010, Felipe Luis suffered a serious injury in a match against Athletic Bilbao. Despite this setback, Atlético Madrid acquired him for €13.5 million in July 2010.

International Career
