Emergence of "Fira": A Musical Journey

In 2007, a group of jazz enthusiasts in Ternopil, Ukraine, embarked on a musical journey that would lead to the creation of the renowned band "Fira." Originally known as "Jazz Fura," the band's initial lineup consisted of a circle of friends who shared a passion for jazz.

Expansion and Experimentation

As the band's musical palette expanded, its lineup grew to include a vocalist, keyboards, bass, percussion, saxophone, and guitar. The addition of a flutist and a second guitarist marked a shift toward ethno-jazz. During the 2007-2008 period, Fira participated twice in the "Jazz Bez" festival in Ukraine and Poland. They performed at jazz and ethno festivals in Lviv, Lutsk, and Ostruda (Poland). The band also recorded for television programs "Folk-music" and "Nashe Pisnya" on the First National Channel.

Unique Style and Album Releases

Fira's unique characteristic lies in its ability to present a new style and a new level of quality with each album release. The band has successfully adapted Latin, folk, and jazz into their music, while simultaneously working on two albums in the styles of modern country and soft rock.

Irina Muzyka's "Modern Country" Experiment

The first of Fira's current albums is attributed to vocalist Irina Muzyka. It represents a bold stylistic experiment in the genre of "modern country," a relatively unexplored territory in Ukrainian popular music. The compositions range from traditional pop styles with hints of modern country to songs that closely resemble Ukrainian folk melodies in harmony and lyrics.

Serhiy Stepanov's Thoughtful Rock

The second album, fronted by Serhiy Stepanov, presents a heavier sound and explores socially conscious themes. It contrasts with Irina's program in genre and features lyrics that reflect on contemporary issues. The arrangements are characterized by layered syntheses and acoustics in a contemporary rock interpretation.

"X-Factor" and Beyond

In 2015, Fira participated in the 6th season of "X-Factor" and advanced to the final stage of the show's training camp. Fira continues to captivate audiences with their versatility, experimentation, and unwavering passion for music.
