Biography of Franco Bonisolli
Franco Bonisolli was an Italian dramatic tenor, known for his exceptional performances in the opera world. Born with a natural talent for music, he began his musical education under the guidance of Alfredo Lattaro. In the early 1960s, he won his first singing competition, which marked the beginning of his professional career as a dramatic opera tenor.
Early Career
After his victorious debut at the Vienna State Opera in 1968, Bonisolli quickly gained recognition for his brilliant interpretations of roles in operas by Verdi and Puccini. His repertoire expanded to include works such as Gounod's "Faust," Bizet's "Les pêcheurs de perles," Rossini's "Il Barbiere di Siviglia," and "Otello."
Notable Performances
One of Bonisolli's most memorable performances took place in 1977 at the Salzburg Easter Festival, where he received great acclaim for his portrayal of Manrico in Verdi's "Il trovatore." Another notable role was Calaf in Verdi's "Turandot." Throughout his career, Bonisolli graced the stages of renowned opera houses worldwide, from Germany and the United States to Spain, France, Japan, and his home country of Italy.
