Biography of Frank Bainimarama
Frank Bainimarama was born on April 27, 1954, in the settlement of Kiuva, Fiji. He started his career in the Fiji Navy after completing his education. In July 1975, he became an ordinary seaman and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a junior lieutenant in the navy.

After receiving military training in Australia, Bainimarama served on the frontline in the United States in the mid-1980s, where he earned the rank of captain. In 1987, he returned to Fiji and was appointed as the Commander of the Fiji Navy in 1988. He held this position for nine years and underwent further training at a military college to match his status. During this time, he also became a student at the Asian Institute of Technology and the University of Dalhousie.

In 1998, Bainimarama was appointed as the Commander of the Fiji Military Forces. However, the country experienced unrest and another military coup after a year and a half. As a result, power changed hands, and Bainimarama became the leader of Fiji. He neutralized aggressive actions from the army and the people, calmed the masses, and began the process of rebuilding the country.

In May 2000, Bainimarama was appointed as the head of the interim government of Fiji. In July of the same year, he handed over power to President Josefa Iloilo, who attempted to bring order to the country through a strict military dictatorship. Many politicians were dismissed from their positions, and only the president's closest allies remained in his inner circle.
At the end of 2006, Fiji experienced another military coup. President Josefa Iloilo was removed from office, and former Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase took his place. However, Qarase was unable to fulfill his duties, and after a year, he handed over the country's leadership to the former president. The post of Prime Minister remained vacant, and Frank Bainimarama was appointed as the interim Prime Minister.
Currently, Frank Bainimarama holds the position of Commodore of the Fiji Navy and Commander-in-Chief of the Fiji Military Forces. He possesses immense power and authority in the country.
