Childhood and Early Life

Frederick Lau was born on August 17, 1989, in Berlin, Germany. From a young age, he exhibited a passion for sports, participating in hockey and judo. At the age of 11, he made his acting debut in a minor role in the 2000 film "Frau Police". Inspired by the atmosphere of the film set, Lau decided to pursue an acting career.

Transition to Acting

At the age of 16, Lau left home to pursue acting full-time. He appeared in several small roles in films and television series, such as "How to Marry a Millionaire" (2001) and "Flying Classroom" (2003). His breakthrough came in 2008 with his portrayal of Tim Stoltefuss in Dennis Gansel's drama "The Experiment 2: The Wave".

Notable Roles

Lau has gained recognition for his performances in a wide range of films. In 2010, he starred in "Neue Vahr Süd" as Frank Lehmann, a young man who inadvertently joins the military. Critics praised the film, and Lau received the Bavarian Television Award for Best Male Actor.

In 2015, Lau appeared as Richie Weichert in the World War II drama "Clouds of Sils Maria". He went on to play Kipinski in the 2017 military film "Captain", which depicted the war crimes committed by a young German soldier.
