Frederik Rønnow: Danish Goalkeeper
Early CareerFrederik Rønnow is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Brøndby IF and the Denmark national team. Born in Horsens, Denmark, Rønnow joined his hometown club Horsens BK as a youth player. In 2010, he was included in the first-team squad.
Professional Debut and Horsens
On March 31, 2012, Rønnow made his debut for Horsens in a Danish Superliga match against AaB. He became the club's regular starting goalkeeper from the following season. In the summer of 2013, Rønnow was loaned out to Esbjerg fB. He made his debut for his new club on July 22 in a match against FC Nordsjælland.
Return to Horsens and Transfer to Brøndby
After returning from his loan spell, Rønnow played for another half-season with Horsens before the club was relegated to the Danish First Division. In the summer of 2015, Rønnow transferred to Brøndby IF. He made his debut for the club on August 9 in a match against Randers FC.
International Career
Rønnow represented Denmark at the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in the Czech Republic. He served as a backup goalkeeper and did not appear on the field during the tournament.
On August 31, 2016, Rønnow made his senior international debut for Denmark in a friendly match against Liechtenstein.
Move to Bundesliga and Club Honors
In April 2018, it was announced that Rønnow would join German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt. He played for the club until 2021, winning the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) in the 2018-19 season.
Return to Brøndby
In July 2021, Rønnow returned to Brøndby IF. He has been a key player for the team, helping them win the Danish Superliga title in the 2021-22 season.
