Early Career
Denis Ershov began his footballing journey in his hometown, Odessa. He joined the local DYuFL (Children and Youth Sports School) team, Chornomorets, before moving to Chornomorets-2 in 2000. With the second team, he made just three appearances in the Second League, notably conceding six goals in a 6-1 defeat to Metalurh-2 Zaporizhzhia. In 2002, he featured for the amateur Odessa club, Lasunya.
Move to Moldova and International Experience
In 2003, Ershov signed for the First League club, Mykolaiv. He also briefly represented their farm club, Olimpiya FC AES, before signing a contract with Moldovan side Nisporeni in 2004. With Nisporeni, he achieved significant success, winning the Silver and Bronze medals in the Moldovan Championship and the Moldovan Cup. He also participated in the UEFA Cup qualification against Hungarian club Honved in 2007.
Return to Ukraine and Agent Status
In 2008, Ershov joined Ukrainian Premier League club Mariupol. However, he faced competition from experienced goalkeepers and spent most of his time playing for their youth team. In July 2009, Mariupol terminated his contract, making him a free agent. He soon found a new home at Prykarpattia Ivano-Frankivsk.
Uzbekistan Adventure
In 2010, Ershov signed a one-year deal with Uzbek club Almalyk.Honors
