Biography of Freek de Jonge
Freek de Jonge is a Dutch cabaret actor, singer, comedian, and blogger. Born in the village of Westernieland, he grew up in a family of a priest. After several moves, his family settled in Goes. At the age of 11, de Jonge made his first appearance on stage. Despite the difficulties he faced in school, he managed to graduate and then went on to study cultural anthropology in Amsterdam.

Formation of "Neerlands Hoop in Bange Dagen"
During his studies, de Jonge met Bram Vermeulen and Johan Gertenbach, with whom he formed the comedy group "Neerlands Hoop in Bange Dagen." They gained recognition in 1978 with their show "Bloed aan de paal," in which they actively criticized the Dutch national football team's participation in the World Cup in Argentina. However, the group disbanded in 1979, and Freek de Jonge began his solo career.

Writing and Collaboration
Before his work in cabaret, de Jonge experimented with writing. Some of his notable works include "Zaansch Veem" in 1987, "Neerlands Bloed" in 1991, and "Opa's Wijsvinger" in 1993. He also ventured into hosting and screenwriting, with films such as "The Illusionist" in 1983 and "De Komediant" in 1986 being based on his works. De Jonge even wrote a hip-hop composition for the Dutch rapper Brainpower.

Collaboration with 'Nits'
In 1994, Freek de Jonge started collaborating with the Dutch pop group 'Nits.' They performed under the name 'Frits' and played both old songs from 'Neerlands Hoop' and new ones specifically written for this project by de Jonge. In 1995, they released the album "Dankzij de Dijken." De Jonge continued to collaborate with Robert Jan Stips, the keyboardist of 'Nits,' and together they recorded two albums. Their collaborative works were successful, with their cover version of Bob Dylan's "Death is not the end" reaching the top of Dutch charts in 1997. Stips and de Jonge continue to collaborate to this day.
