Biography of Fuyuko Tachizaki
Fuyuko Tachizaki is a Japanese biathlete who has participated in the 2010 Olympic Games and two World Championships. She is also a two-time medalist at the 2011 Asian Games. Tachizaki is married to fellow biathlete Mikito Tachizaki.
Early Career
Tachizaki made her debut in the World Cup circuit during the 2008/09 season at the Oberhof stage, where she finished tied for 45th place in the sprint event with Czech athlete Magdalena Rezlerova. In the same season, she also made her debut at the World Championships in Pyeongchang, where her best individual result was 87th place in the individual race.
2010 Olympic Games
At the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, Tachizaki finished 44th in the sprint, 54th in the pursuit, and tied for 53rd place with Chinese athlete Sun Chaocin in the individual race.
Notable Achievements
Tachizaki's best result in the Suzuki World Cup came during the 2015/2016 season in Ruhpolding, where she finished tenth in the mass start event. Her best performance at the World Championships was a 41st place in the sprint at the 2011 World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk.
Asian Games Success
Tachizaki won a silver medal in the individual race and a bronze medal in the relay event at the 2011 Winter Asian Games in Almaty.
