Armando Cooper: Panamanian Football Legend
Early Life and CareerArmando Cooper was born in Panama City, Panama, on November 26, 1987. He began his professional football career in 2003 with hometown club Chorrillo FC. Cooper quickly established himself as a reliable defensive midfielder, and in 2006, he joined Colombian side Atlético Bucaramanga.
National Team Career
Cooper made his debut for the Panamanian national team in 2003. Since then, he has become an integral part of the squad, representing his country in seven CONCACAF Gold Cups and one Copa América. With 140 appearances, Cooper is the most-capped player in Panama's history.
Club Career Highlights
After a successful stint with Atlético Bucaramanga, Cooper moved to Argentina in 2011 to join Godoy Cruz. He returned to Panama briefly in 2015 to play for San Francisco FC before moving to Toronto FC in Major League Soccer (MLS). Cooper currently plays for Atlético Bucaramanga, where he has been a mainstay in the starting lineup.
