Early Life and Family

Jeanne Calment, a renowned French supercentenarian, was born on 4 June 1904, to Paul de Robert and Hélène Delorme. In 1911, her family relocated to the city of Nantes, Pays de la Loire, France, where she spent the majority of her life until her passing on 3 December 2018.

Personal Life

Calment remained unmarried throughout her life and did not have any children. She resided with her parents and two sisters, both of whom also remained single. During World War II, she worked as a nurse for the Red Cross. Calment possessed a passion for writing poetry.

Public Recognition

Her name gained public attention at the forum Les Grands Centenaires Français in March 2018.

Longevity Records

On 19 October 2017, Calment became the second oldest living person in France, following the death of Honorine Rondello. She celebrated her 114th birthday on 4 June 2018.
