Early Life and Education
Kazakhstani publicist and screenwriter, received his metallurgical engineering degree from the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute (1961-1966) and later studied at the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors in Moscow (1974-1976).
Early Career
Before embarking on his career in media, worked as a metalworker at the Institute of Metallurgy and Enrichment of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR (1960-1961) and as a smelter at the Ust-Kamenogorsk Lead-Zinc Plant (1961-1962).
Television and Broadcasting Career
Began his media career at the Alma-Ata Television Studio (1964-1974), holding various editorial roles including editor, senior editor, and chief editor. From 1976, worked as a commentator and reviewer for Kazakh Television, and later joined the "Kazakhtehlefilm" studio as a member of the script and editorial board. Held various senior editorial positions at Kazakh Television, including Chief Editor of the Propaganda Department (1977-1982) and Chief Editor of Kazakh State Film Agency (1982-1983). In 1986, appointed Chairman of the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Committee of the Kazakh SSR.
Political and Press Career
From 1990 to 1991, served as Head of the Department for Press Relations and Public Opinion Research in the Office of the President of the Kazakh SSR, and later as Press Secretary to the President of the Kazakh SSR. In 1992, became Head of the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Led the Intergovernmental Television and Radio Company "Mir" from 1992 to 2002, and served as an advisor to the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan from 2000 onwards. Elected as a member of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2004-2007).
Later Career
After his parliamentary term, worked as an advisor to the president of JSC "Samruk" (2007-2009). Since 2009, has been Head of the Department of Television, Radio and Public Relations at Eurasian National University named after L. N. Gumilyov. Also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the scientific and informational journal "Menin Elim" and the scientific and publicistic journal "Man. Energy. Atom".
