Gan Lin, a wealthy Chinese woman, is known for her original and unconventional approach to instilling a love for nature in her daughter. At the age of 33, Gan Lin resides in Chongqing, a central city in China. Her nine-year-old daughter, Yin Gan, is a fourth-grade student who, like many children today, has a strong interest in smartphones, social media, computer games, and music.

Recently, Gan realized that despite her daughter's diligence, Yin had little knowledge about nature and the surrounding world. Being financially well-off, Gan decided to solve this problem in her own unique way. She simply went to the local council and rented an entire mountain, complete with a farm located on its premises, believing that this territory would provide Yin with the necessary understanding of nature.

The rented mountain includes a 1.3-hectare farm, but Gan considered this even better as she had no intention of displacing the farmers. Instead, she thought it would be beneficial for her daughter and her peers to see firsthand where and how food products are obtained. Gan has reached an agreement with the farmers, who will occasionally conduct excursions and farming lessons for the children. She pays approximately $5000 per month for the mountain, but for the eccentric Chinese woman, it is a small price to pay for her daughter's education.

Gan not only invites her daughter's friends and classmates to join them on the mountain, but also laments the fact that urban children today know very little about nature. She believes that school lessons often prove to be useless and provide no real knowledge to the children. Now that Gan has taken matters into her own hands, her daughter and her social circle will undoubtedly gain a deep understanding of the growth of vegetables, the origin of milk in stores, and the cultivation of rice. The children eagerly help the farmers in the gardens and even dig the soil themselves, finding it to be an exotic experience.

Gan is very pleased with her idea as it not only provides knowledge but also allows her to take her daughter out of the city with its questionable ecology. With a shrug, she states, "Here it is safe, here it is clean, here it is beautiful. If I can afford to rent a mountain, why not?"

Some people laugh and wonder if Gan will decide to rent a small sea when she realizes that her daughter knows little about the world's oceans and marine life.
