Garthernart III, King of the Picts

Reign

Garthernart III was the King of the Picts, a Celtic people who inhabited the present-day region of Scotland, from 633 to 637 AD. Historical sources, including the "Pictish Chronicle" and Irish annals, indicate a four-year reign for Garthernart III. However, some sources suggest a reign of five or eight years, which is considered less likely.

Death

The "Annals of Ulster," a chronicle of Irish history, records the death of Garthernart III in 637 AD. He was succeeded by his son, Bride II.
