He is the older brother of Daniel, a professional footballer who has played for clubs in Ireland, Finland, and India. Carr's father was a talented singer with a strong baritone voice, and his mother had a collection of jazz and blues vinyl records that greatly influenced him.

Education and Theatre Debut

From a young age, Gary Carr was drawn to the arts. He made his theatre debut in a school production of "The King and I" and went on to join the National Youth Music Theatre of Great Britain. Later, he received a scholarship to study at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).

Television and Film Career

Carr's film and television debut came in 2009 in the television series "Holby City" and "Law & Order: London."
