Helen Elizabeth Hunt, born on June 15, 1963, is an actress from California. She is best known to our viewers for her role in the wonderful comedy "What Women Want". However, in the United States, she became the highest-paid television star and a winner of three Golden Globes and four Emmys for her role in the sitcom "Mad About You". Her next huge success was the romantic comedy "As Good as It Gets", for which she was awarded an Oscar and a Golden Globe.
Early Life and Career
Helen Elizabeth Hunt was born in Culver City, a small town near Los Angeles, which has a direct connection to the film industry. It is not surprising that her whole family was involved in the film industry. Her father, Gordon Hunt, acted in movies, voiced roles, and directed. Her mother, Jane Elizabeth, nee Novis, worked as a photographer. In 1966, the family moved to New York. Gordon Hunt started acting in theater, and Helen often appeared on stage in episodes involving children. Her talent was discovered at a young age, and her father began giving her acting lessons. At the age of seven, Helen already had her own agent and appeared in the comedy television series "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" (1970-1977), then played episodes in the series "The Bionic Woman" and the children's fantasy "Ark II", and played the role of Sarah Sargent in the western film "The Great Locomotive Chase" (1973).
