George Adamski: Pioneer in Extraterrestrial Contact
Early Life and Military ServiceGeorge Adamski was born in Poland on April 17, 1891. At the age of two, he immigrated with his family to the United States, settling in New York. At the age of 22, he enlisted in the 13th Cavalry, serving from 1913 to 1916 on the Mexican border during the Pancho Villa Expedition. In 1917, he married.
Western Migrations and Mount Palomar
Adamski later moved west, working as a laborer in Yellowstone National Park and a mill worker in Oregon. In 1940, he and his close friends moved to a ranch near Palomar Mountain in California, where they engaged in farming and teaching. In 1944, with funding from Alice K. Wells, Adamski acquired 20 acres of land on Palomar Mountain, where they built a new home called 'Palomar Garden' and a restaurant called 'Palomar Gardens Cafe'.
The Mojave Desert Encounter
On November 20, 1952, George Adamski and his friends were on a picnic in the Mojave Desert when they witnessed a cigar-shaped object in the sky being pursued by fighter jets. A second, silvery, disk-shaped object descended from the larger craft and landed on the ground half a kilometer away.
The disc-shaped object was radially symmetric, resembling a flat dome with a large hemisphere on top and a series of circles ('portholes') around it. There were also three smaller hemispheres ('stabilizers') on the underside, symmetrically positioned around the center of the dome's cross-section. Adamski captured a photograph of this object.
Telepathic Communication and Extraterrestrial Visitations
Adamski approached the disc and was met by a humanoid figure. He described the being as a handsome, swarthy humanoid with shoulder-length blond hair and piercing gray-green eyes. There was no facial hair, and he wore a seamless, shiny metallic suit. Adamski's friends, observing with binoculars, later testified in writing that he was actively gesturing with the entity.
Adamski claimed that the being, in addition to gestures, communicated with him telepathically. The entity conveyed that it came in peace from Venus. It expressed concern over the radiation emitted by Earth's nuclear weapon tests, which posed a threat to other planets. The being also revealed that Earth was frequently visited by extraterrestrials from other planets in our solar system and even other galaxies.
Evidence of the Encounter
Adamski asserted that the entity permitted him to photograph the UFO but not itself. He also claimed that the humanoid left footprints in the sand, which he and his friends cast in plaster. The footprints allegedly contained "hieroglyphs" that they attempted to decipher.
Subsequent Encounters and Interplanetary Explorations
Adamski maintained that he saw the being he met in November 1952 on numerous other occasions. He claimed to have traveled beyond Earth with similar beings. On the far side of the moon, he purportedly witnessed apparent man-made structures, forests, mountains, bodies of water, and even a four-legged animal covered in fur. Adamski also asserted that he attended an "interplanetary conference" on Saturn.
