Biography of Georgiy Gegechkori
Georgiy Gegechkori, a renowned Georgian actor, was born on November 25, 1929, in Tbilisi, Georgia. He graduated from the Shota Rustaveli Institute of Theatre Arts in 1944 and began his career as an actor at the Tbilisi Academic Theatre named after Shota Rustaveli.
Accomplishments
Throughout his career, Georgiy Gegechkori received numerous accolades for his outstanding contributions to the theater and film industry. He was honored with the title of People's Artist of the Georgian SSR in 1955 and later became a People's Artist of the USSR. He was also a recipient of the State Prize of Georgia and the K. Mardjanishvili Prize. In recognition of his achievements, Gegechkori was awarded the Order of Honor.

In addition to his theater work, Georgiy Gegechkori made his film debut in 1954, playing the role of Levan in the comedy "Strekoza." He starred in various films across different studios, but his most notable performances were in films produced by Georgia-Film, including "Zanoza," "Perepolokh," "Drevo Zhelaniya," and "Berega."
