Early Life and Education

Zurab Zhvania was born in Georgia and pursued higher education at Tbilisi State University, where he graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics. His academic journey continued at the Kiev Institute of Mathematics, where he completed his postgraduate studies in 1970.

Academic Career

After obtaining his doctorate in technical sciences, Zhvania embarked on a distinguished academic career. He served as a senior researcher at the Institute of Applied Mathematics and a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Tbilisi State University. He later became an associate professor and eventually the Dean of the Faculty of Cybernetics and Applied Mathematics.

Political Involvement

Zhvania's involvement in politics began in 1978 when he was elected as the Dean of the Faculty of Cybernetics and Applied Mathematics. In 1982, he took over as the head of the Department of Mathematical Methods.

State Minister of Georgia (2000-2001)

Zhvania played a key role in Georgian politics, serving as the State Minister of Georgia from 2000 to 2001. His tenure was marked by significant reforms and international engagement.

Parliamentary Leadership

In the final convocation of the Georgian Parliament, Zhvania held the position of Chairman of the Committee on Human Rights and Civil Integration. He actively advocated for the protection of human rights and the promotion of civil society.

Personal Life
