Gerald Rudolph Ford Jr. is the 38th President of the United States, serving from 1974 to 1977. He recently became the longest-living President in history. On July 14th, he turned 93 years old, and on November 11th, he added 121 more days to that number. This milestone was previously held by Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States, who passed away on June 5th, 2004, at the age of 93 years and 120 days. Ford believes that the duration of life is not as important as the love of family and friends.

Currently, Ford resides at the Mirage Ranch in California with his former First Lady, Betty Ford, who is 88 years old. They enjoy their retirement together in this peaceful setting.
Political Career
In 1973, Ford became the Vice President in Richard Nixon's administration. Following Nixon's resignation due to the Watergate scandal, Ford assumed the presidency and held the highest position in the country until 1977. Ford is the only Vice President and President who was never elected to these positions. He was appointed by Nixon to replace Spiro Agnew, the elected Vice President who resigned in 1973 due to tax evasion charges. Ford ran for re-election in 1976 but lost to Jimmy Carter.
Health Issues
