Günter Nöbel was a German jurist and politician. He embarked on his legal studies in 1948 at the universities of Kiel and Marburg.
Senator in Berlin's Senate
Nöbel remained unaffiliated with any political party. From January to June 1981, he served as Senator for Federal Affairs in Berlin's Senate, under the leadership of Governing Mayor Hans-Jochen Vogel.
Head of the Federal Chancellery
In April 1982, Nöbel was appointed Head of the Federal Chancellery, holding the position until October of the same year. Concurrent with this role, he also oversaw the German Federal Intelligence Service.
State Secretary in North Rhine-Westphalia
After his tenure in the federal government, Nöbel became State Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Research for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. He held this post from 1983 to 1994.
