Early Career and European Adventure

Magrão began his soccer journey in the youth academy of Brazilian club Cruzeiro. Before making his senior debut, he embarked on a European adventure by joining Dutch club Feyenoord, where he experienced his professional debut. After a brief stint at Flamengo back in Brazil, Magrão returned to the Cruzeiro organization by playing for Ipatinga, a de facto affiliate.

Debut at Cruzeiro and Transfer to Kyiv

In 2008, Magrão finally made his debut for his hometown club Cruzeiro. He caught the attention of Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv under the guidance of Valeriy Gazzaev. Under Gazzaev, Magrão frequently featured in the starting lineup as a left-back. While his defensive capabilities left room for improvement, he showcased exceptional technical skills, often contributing to the team's attacks. Notably, he scored a crucial winning goal against Rubin Kazan in the Champions League.

Positional Shifts and Departure from Kyiv

Dynamo Kyiv subsequently acquired Goran Popov as their first-choice left-back, reducing Magrão's playing time. The club attempted to utilize him as a left midfielder, but Andrei Yarmolenko proved more effective in that role. Ultimately, Dynamo's head coach, Yuri Semin, deemed Magrão surplus to requirements.

Return to Brazil and Achievements

After leaving Kyiv, Magrão returned to Brazil and joined CRB in 2019. As of now, his career has been marked by a single major achievement: a finalist position in the 2009 Copa Libertadores with Cruzeiro.
