Early Life and Career Beginnings

Gigi Gorgeous (born Gregory Allan Lazzarato) is a Canadian YouTuber, socialite, actress, and model. Gigi began uploading vlogs to the streaming platform YouTube in 2008 under the name Gregory Gorgeous. Her videos gained popularity and earned her a following online. In the following years, Lazzarato regularly uploaded content to the channel and also created and starred in the reality show The Avenue (2011–2013).

Gender Transition and Public Recognition

After a brief hiatus, Lazzarato garnered significant media attention when she came out as a transgender woman in 2013, changing her name to Gigi Gorgeous. In 2014, Lazzarato personally documented her gender transition journey through her social media profiles, notably through videos chronicling cosmetic procedures that went viral.

In 2016, an incident involving Lazzarato's deportation from Dubai due to her transgender status was widely reported.

Documentary and Film Appearances

Lazzarato was the subject of the documentary film, "This Is Everything: Gigi Gorgeous" (2017), directed by Barbara Kopple, which follows her life navigating gender transition. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to be released in limited theatrical release, receiving multiple awards including a Streamy.

Beyond her personal mission, Lazzarato has ventured into acting and modeling. Notably, she has appeared in YouTube colleague Shane Dawson's short films "I Hate Myselfie" (2015) and its sequel, and has guest-starred in television series Project Runway All Stars, Me and My Grandma, Good Work, and Trailblazers, among others. In 2019, Gigi authored a book titled, "He Said, She Said: Lessons, Stories, and Mistakes from My Transgender Journey."

Personal Life and Identity

Gigi Gorgeous is a practicing Catholic and identifies as religious. She has been in a relationship with Nats Getty, an heir and member of the Getty family, since 2016. They married in 2019. In 2021, Gigi came out as pansexual, explaining that she fell in love with Nats "not because of his gender but because of the person he is."

Transition Journey

Gigi publicly came out as a transgender woman in December 2013. Since then, she has undergone electrolysis, tracheal shave, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), facial feminization surgery (FFS), rhinoplasty, and breast augmentation. On March 8, 2014, Lazzarato legally changed her name to Gigi Loren Lazzarato.
