Gina Marie Trapani, born in 1975 in Brooklyn, New York, is a blogger, web developer, and writer. She began her career as a journalist for 'New Youth Connections' (now known as 'YCteen') and wrote for other publications targeting young audiences.
Trapani gained fame through her blog, Lifehacker, which she created in January 2005. The blog quickly became incredibly popular among users and provided tips on how to maximize the use of computers and the internet. This simple idea propelled Trapani to internet stardom, placing her alongside notable figures such as Seth Godin, Mario Lavandeira, Mark Zuckerberg, and Harry Knowles.
Trapani is a co-founder of the well-known TWiT show and also hosts This Week in Google with Leo Laporte and Jeff Jarvis. In 2006, she received the prestigious 'Rave Award' from Wired magazine. In addition to her own projects, Trapani has worked on Google applications and authored the highly popular book, 'The Complete Guide to Google Wave,' in 2010.
Trapani is recognized as an expert in Google Wave and has written extensively about the platform, providing users with insights into its features and functionalities. While Google Wave has been replaced by Google+, Trapani has high hopes for the new service. Trapani has also been a speaker at events such as the Web 2.0 Expo, and Fast Company named her one of the most influential women in technology in 2009 and 2010. She currently resides in San Diego, California.
