Early Life and Influences

Born into a family of klezmer musicians from Kishinev, Gioia Feidman's father studied at the Royal Conservatory in Bucharest before immigrating. From a young age, Feidman absorbed the nuances of klezmer music. He also pursued formal studies at the Buenos Aires Conservatory, where he performed with the Colon Opera Orchestra as a student.

Return to Israel and Orchestral Career

In 1956, Feidman returned to Israel, joining the Israel Symphony Orchestra. His repertoire expanded, encompassing original arrangements and pieces by Gershwin and Bernstein.

His repertoire includes original klezmer compositions, classical arrangements, and works by Astor Piazzolla, whom he has extensively transcribed for clarinet.
