Early Life and Club Career
Giovanny Moreno is a Colombian professional football player who plays as an attacking midfielder for the Chinese club Shanghai Greenland Shenhua and the Colombia national team. Born in Bello, Colombia, Moreno began his career in the youth academy of Envigado FC.
In 2006, Moreno made his professional debut for Envigado in the Colombian Primera B. He quickly established himself as a top-flight talent, becoming the league's top scorer twice and helping the club achieve promotion to the top flight in 2007.
Atlético Nacional
In 2008, Moreno joined Atlético Nacional for a fee of €2.5 million. He made his debut for the club in the Copa Mustang and scored his first goal against Once Caldas. In the 2009 season, Moreno had a breakout year, scoring three hat-tricks, including one in the deciding match against Deportes Tolima.
Racing Club
In 2010, Moreno moved to Argentina to play for Racing Club. He made his debut in the Argentine Primera División against Boca Juniors and scored his first goal for the club against Lanús. Moreno played for Racing for two seasons, making a significant contribution to their attack.
Shanghai Greenland Shenhua
In 2012, Moreno joined Shanghai Greenland Shenhua in the Chinese Super League. He made his debut for the club against Qingdao Jonoon and scored his first goal against Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao.
International Career
Moreno made his debut for the Colombia national team in a friendly match against Mexico in 2009. He scored his first international goal in the same match. Moreno has since become a regular member of the national team squad.
