Birth and Early CareerGiuliano Razzoli, an Italian skier, hails from Castelnovo ne' Monti, Italy. In 2006, he triumphed at the Italian Championships in Santa Caterina, earning him a spot on the national team.
World Cup Debut and Success
Razzoli's World Cup debut came in December 2006 in Alta Badia. Throughout his career, he has achieved seven podium finishes in the World Cup, all in slalom events. His first World Cup victory occurred in Zagreb, Croatia in 2010, while his second triumph came in Lenzerheide, Austria in 2011.
Olympic Gold in Vancouver
Razzoli's most notable achievement to date is his impressive victory in the men's slalom at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. He completed the two runs in a combined time of 1:39.32 seconds, edging out Ivica Kostelic of Croatia and Andre Myhrer of Sweden. It was Italy's only gold medal at the Games and the nation's first Olympic gold in alpine skiing in 22 years.
Post-Olympic Career
After his Olympic success, Razzoli's popularity in Italy soared. However, he injured his forearm in autumn 2010, requiring surgery. He has participated in three World Championships (2009, 2011, and 2013), but has yet to medal.
