Early Life and EducationGlenn Close was born in New London, Connecticut. She attended Dramatic Arts High School in New York City and went on to study at the Herbert Berghof Studio. Seeking further training, she traveled to Switzerland, where she joined a theater company in Chicago alongside actors John Malkovich, Gary Sinise, and Laurie Metcalf. Close briefly married Malkovich before their marriage ended.
Film Career
Close made her film debut in 1981. Her breakthrough role came in Woody Allen's 1985 film. In 1990, she starred as the female lead in the acclaimed movie. Since then, Close has established herself as a versatile and sought-after supporting actress, occasionally taking on lead roles.
