Goran Kačar is a Serbian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for FC Augsburg. He began his football journey as a youth player for FK Vojvodina, where he played from 2003 to 2008.
Move to Germany
On January 23, 2008, Kačar made a significant move to Germany, joining Hertha BSC for a transfer fee of €3 million. He made his Bundesliga debut on February 2 in a match against Eintracht Frankfurt. His first goal in the Bundesliga came on May 3 of the same year against Karlsruher SC. During his tenure with Hertha BSC, Kačar played in 64 league matches and scored 10 goals.
Transfer to Hamburg
Kačar's impressive performances in Berlin earned him a transfer to Hamburger SV for €5.5 million on July 31, 2010. He remained with the club for several years, establishing himself as a key player in their midfield.
International Career
Kačar made his debut for the Serbian national team on November 24, 2007, in a Euro 2008 qualifying match against Kazakhstan. He was part of Serbia's squad at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, where he played against Germany in the group stage.

Kačar comes from a family with a strong sporting background. His uncle, Gojko Slodoban Kačar, is an Olympic boxing gold medalist from 1980. Another uncle, Gojko Tadija Kačar, is a boxing Olympic silver medalist from 1976.
