Early Life and Professional Career

Gordon Durie was born on December 6, 1965, in Paisley, Scotland. His professional football career began in 1981 with East Fife, where he quickly became a regular in the team. In 1984, he moved to Hibernian, where he reached the Scottish League Cup final in 1986.

Move to Chelsea and Club Success

In 1986, Durie joined Chelsea for £400,000. He became a key player for the Blues, finishing as their top scorer in the 1987-88 season despite relegation to the Second Division. The following year, Chelsea earned promotion back to the top flight, and Durie matched a club record by scoring five goals in a single match.

Tottenham Hotspur and Return to Scotland

Durie joined Tottenham Hotspur in 1991 for £2.2 million. He played for the "Spurs" for over two seasons before returning to Scotland in October 1993 with Rangers. This marked the peak of his club career, as he won numerous trophies, including six Scottish league titles, three Scottish Cups, and three Scottish League Cups.

International Career

Durie made his Scotland debut in 1987 and played in the 1990, 1992, and 1996 European Championships, as well as the 1998 World Cup. He scored seven goals for his country in 43 appearances.

Post-Retirement and Legacy

Durie retired from playing in 2001 and began working as an assistant manager at East Fife in 2010. He is known for his humorous nickname, "Jukebox," and his memorable experiences as a teammate of Ally McCoist and Paul Gascoigne at Rangers. His son, Scott, is also a professional footballer.
