Govhar Hasanzade: An Accomplished Composer

Govhar Hasanzade is an esteemed composer and an Honored Artist of Azerbaijan. She has crafted numerous songs for renowned Azerbaijani performers, including Araz Gasimov, Izzat Bağırov, İradə İbrahimova, Zülfiyyə Xanbabayeva, Elnara Khalilova, and Aygün Kazımova, as well as Turkish singers Pınar Aylin, Fatma Eryılmaz Güney, Aزيزцан, and Misha.

Eurovision and International Success

Hasanzade made a significant mark in the music industry when she composed "Day After Day," which was performed by Samir Javadzadeh and Elnur Hüseynov. The song represented Azerbaijan at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008, securing an impressive 8th place.

Directorial and Managerial Roles

In addition to her composing career, Hasanzade has fulfilled the responsibilities of a stage director for musical events at the Heydar Aliyev Palace. She has also served as the director of the Shahriyar Cultural Center and the Green Theater.

Collaborations with Poets and Musicians

Hasanzade often collaborates with renowned poets such as Ayşe Yılmaz Birgül of Turkey, who pens lyrics for her compositions. She primarily arranges her songs in partnership with Yashar Bakhysh.

Composition Album and Musical Project

Currently, Hasanzade is working diligently on a monumental composition album. The album will comprise six discs, each containing 13 compositions. These discs are set to feature a curated selection of her finest songs, bearing the letters of her name as their titles (e.g., "G," "O," "V," "H," "A," and "R"). Notably, one of the albums will showcase Hasanzade herself performing her songs with the accompaniment of arranger Samir Asadov. The composer and musician intend to duet on select songs as well. Additionally, Hasanzade is engaged in the creation of a musical theater production.
