Govi
Biography of Govi
Govi is a guitarist who performs meditative music in the style of new age and flamenco. He was born in Germany and currently resides in California, USA. However, there are also reports that he lives on the Hawaiian Islands. Govi chooses to work under a pseudonym, which is common among many meditative music artists.

In his youth, Govi played the guitar in several youth bands before entering the professional music scene. He traveled throughout Germany with his band and won the German National Music Group competition.

Govi spent eight years in India, where he immersed himself in Indian culture. He was a disciple of Osho and had the opportunity to meet Doyter and Karunesh, who were at the forefront of new age music.
Govi's peak of popularity came in the 1990s when flamenco music experienced a revival. During this period, Govi released albums such as Passion & Grace and Andalusian Night. In 1997, he recorded his fifth album, Guitar Odyssey, which combined Caribbean rhythms, flamenco, Native American melodies, and a touch of Eastern contemplation and meditative bliss. This album became one of his most successful works, reaching the top ten new age albums of 1997 according to Billboard and achieving an honorable third place.
Govi strives to make each new album different from the previous ones, stating, "I don't want to repeat myself, and I don't know what I'll do next. People say that my music touches them. To create something in the studio, you have to enter a 'beyond-mind' space. Then you pour the magic onto the tape, otherwise, you're just extracting sounds."
