Hrant Vardanyan

Hrant Vardanyan is an Armenian military, political figure, and entrepreneur who is the nephew of General Manvel Grigoryan.

Early Life and Military Service

Vardanyan was born in Echmiadzin, Armenia. He graduated from Echmiadzin's "Grigor Lusavorich" University with a degree in Economics in 2000. From 1983 to 1985, he worked on the Arshaluis village collective farm. He then served in the army from 1985 to 1987.

From 1989 to 1996, Vardanyan fought as a soldier and deputy commander in the "Yerkrapah" volunteer detachment. He also served in the Armed Forces of Armenia and became the commander of a company in 1995.

Political Career

In 1996, Vardanyan became the director of the Echmiadzin bread factory. From 1999 to 2003, he was a member of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense, National Security, and Internal Affairs. He was a member of the "Unity" faction and later the "Aiastan" deputies group.

On May 25, 2003, Vardanyan joined the Standing Committee on Defense, National Security, and Internal Affairs once again, this time as a member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) faction.

Awards and Recognition

Vardanyan has received numerous awards for his service, including the "Maternal Gratitude" Medal (1995), the Order of the Combat Cross, 2nd Degree (1996), the "Marshal Baghramyan" Medal (2001), the "Andranik Ozanian" Medal (2003), and the "Vazgen Sargsyan" Medal (2003).
