Early Life and Education

Grant Gustin was born in Norfolk, Virginia, to Tina Haney and Tom Gustin. He has a brother, Tyler, and a sister, Gracie. Gustin attended Granby High School in Norfolk, the Governor's School for the Arts, and Elon Mask University. He actively participated in local theater productions and joined the national tour of the Broadway musical "West Side Story" as Baby John in 2010.

Television Breakthrough

Gustin made his television debut in 2006 in an episode of the supernatural anthology series "Haunting." However, his breakthrough role came five years later in the popular Fox musical comedy-drama "Glee" as Sebastian Smythe, an openly gay countertenor and soloist for the rival choir, the Warblers.

Guest Appearances and Supporting Roles

In 2012, Gustin played estranged twin brothers in an episode of "CSI: Miami." He also appeared in a recurring role during the final season of "90210: Next Generation" in 2013.

Film Debut and Further Projects

Gustin's first feature film was the Lifetime thriller "Mother's Nightmare." He made his big-screen debut in the drama "Affluenza."

DC Universe Superhero

In September 2013, Gustin was cast as DC Comics superhero Barry Allen in the second season of "Arrow." This led to the development of a spin-off series, "The Flash," which premiered in October 2014.
