Biography of Grant Hill
Grant Hill is an American professional basketball player who has played for the clubs 'Detroit Pistons', 'Orlando Magic', 'Phoenix Suns', and 'Los Angeles Clippers'. He earned a total of $142.8 million in his 19-year NBA career, placing him last on the list of the '25 highest-paid NBA players of all time'.

Early Life and College Career
Grant Gerni Hill was born on October 5, 1972, in Dallas, Texas. Despite his parents' preferences for Georgetown University and the University of North Carolina, Hill chose to attend Duke University. During his four years at Duke, he played for the 'Blue Devils' team and became a two-time national champion in 1991 and 1992. Hill's college career was exceptional, as he became the first player in the history of the Atlantic Coast Conference to score over 1900 points, grab over 700 rebounds, make over 400 assists, record over 200 steals, and block over 100 shots.

Professional Career
Hill was drafted by the 'Detroit Pistons' as the third overall pick in the 1994 NBA draft. He shared the title of 'NBA Rookie of the Year' with Jason Kidd in his debut season. In his first five seasons with the 'Detroit Pistons', Hill achieved 20 triple-doubles, but injuries plagued him for the next 12 seasons, causing his statistics to decline. Despite the setbacks, Hill was named an NBA All-Star seven times, was selected for the All-NBA team five times, and won the NBA Sportsmanship Award three times.

Later Career and Retirement
After six seasons with the 'Detroit Pistons', Hill joined the 'Orlando Magic' in 2000 and remained with the team until 2007. However, he missed the entire 2003-2004 season due to a staph infection that occurred during ankle surgery. From 2007 to 2012, Hill played for the 'Phoenix Suns'. He then signed a contract with the 'Los Angeles Clippers' in 2012, but injuries, including a knee injury, limited his playing time. Hill officially announced his retirement from the NBA on June 1, 2013, after 19 years in the league.
