Gregory Kunde is an American operatic tenor known for his elegant and experienced performances in the bel canto repertoire. Born in Kankakee, Illinois, Kunde studied composition and vocal performance at Illinois State University. He made his professional debut in 1978 at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, portraying Cassio in Verdi's "Otello".

Early Career and Recognition

Kunde quickly gained recognition for his performances in the bel canto repertoire, showcasing his exceptional talent and flawless upper register. He concluded the season at the Chopin Festival in Warsaw.
