Biography of Greta Pontarelli
IntroductionGreta Pontarelli is a pole dancer who started dancing at the age of almost sixty. Despite being in her sixties now, her age doesn't hinder her from appearing before the audience in a sparkling swimsuit. When she approaches the pole, no one even remembers her age. Pole dancing, also known as pole sport, is usually associated with young girls. However, this did not deter Greta Pontarelli when she embarked on this exotic dance form.

Discovering Pole Dancing
Greta was initially drawn to pole dancing out of necessity. At one point, she faced the threat of osteoporosis and needed to engage in a sport with considerable load-bearing exercises. After considering various options, Greta concluded that simply lifting weights would be boring, but dancing would be much more enjoyable. Confidently, at the age of almost sixty, she approached the pole. Pole dancing turned out to be so captivating that Greta started training every day, eventually becoming proficient in the art.

Overcoming Age Stereotypes
Greta soon developed a strong passion for dancing and couldn't imagine her life without it. She even became somewhat addicted to it. Additionally, she wanted to prove to herself and the world that age is not a barrier. From a medical standpoint, the pole provided exactly the type of load-bearing exercise that Pontarelli needed – her own body weight acted as resistance, engaging her entire body during the exercises. Greta's previous experience in gymnastics, over forty years ago, also contributed to her success.

Competing and Inspiring Others
Her newfound passion led Greta to participate in dance competitions. Surprisingly, at over sixty years old, she competes with girls three times younger than her. However, once Greta starts her performance, the audience in the hall completely forgets about her age. They applaud her with astonishment and admiration as Pontarelli effortlessly and gracefully performs challenging strength exercises on the pole. Her performances are always highly demanding and impressive.
Age is Just a Number
Greta Pontarelli firmly believes that age and other restrictions are primarily in our minds, and we are the main obstacles in achieving our goals. In her sixties, she is not afraid to dream, just as she did in her twenties and thirties. Greta knows for sure that it is never too late to start something new; one just needs to believe in themselves and not be afraid of difficulties. Alongside her pole dancing achievements, Greta also works as a coach, sharing her own experiences and helping others realize their full potential and believe in themselves.
