Biography of Gunter Faltin
Gunter Faltin is a German economist and entrepreneur. He has been serving as a professor of economics at the Berlin Free University since 1977. In 2003, he was entrusted with the entrepreneurship faculty at the university.
Faltin obtained his doctoral degree from the University of Konstanz in 1972. His doctoral thesis was dedicated to Milton Friedman's theory of consumer behavior.
Throughout his career, Faltin has gained extensive international experience. He has delivered lectures and courses in countries such as the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Russia, Ukraine, South Korea, and India. He participated in an Asian exchange program a few years ago, further expanding his global expertise.
Faltin's international teaching experience includes sessions at Thammasat University in Bangkok in 1986 and Chiang Mai University from 1988 to 1990. From 1984 to 1988, he served as the deputy president of the Berlin division of the German Society for Education, Invention, and Innovation.
In 1984, Faltin founded Projektwerkstatt GmbH. This venture led to the creation of 'Teekampagne,' the world's largest mail-order tea company, based on his idea.
In 1995, Faltin played a key role in the establishment of the Berlin Startup Institute, a preparatory institution for aspiring entrepreneurs. In 1997, he proposed the concept of the 'Highest Quality of Education and Entrepreneurship,' an international school that teaches the latest trends and methods in entrepreneurial activities.
In 1999, Faltin founded the Entrepreneurship Laboratory (Labor für Entrepreneurship) at the Berlin Free University. The laboratory was recognized with an innovation award by Volkswagen in the following year.
From 2000 to 2001, Faltin served as an expert in the European project 'Entrepreneurship in Education and Training in Russia and Ukraine,' organized by the European Training Foundation.
Faltin's contributions and achievements have been recognized with various awards and accolades, including the Price-Babson Foundation Prize for his dedication to academic programs for entrepreneurs.
