Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is a prominent Malaysian politician currently serving as the Minister of Home Affairs under Prime Minister Najib Razak's National Front coalition government.

Early Life and Education

Zahid was born in Kampung Sungai Nipah Darat, Perak, Malaysia. He earned a diploma in management from the Malaysian Institute of Management, becoming a qualified management accountant in 1978.

Political Career

Zahid began his political career in the 1990s when he was elected as a member of the Malaysian Parliament for the Bagan Datoh constituency in Perak. Over the years, he has held several cabinet positions, including Minister of Defense and currently Minister of Home Affairs.

Zahid is a member of the United Malays National Organization (UMNO), a major political party in Malaysia. He has held various leadership roles within the party, including that of vice-president.

Family and Personal Life

Zahid is married to Hamidah Khamis and they have four children. His daughter, Nurul Hidayah Ahmad Zahid, is a television host and former volunteer in the Territorial Army Regiment.
