Early Life and Education
Hanna Jaff was born in San Diego, California, to a Mexican mother and an Iraqi-Kurdish father. Her father, a prominent businessman in the real estate industry, traces his lineage back to the Jaff clan, known for its involvement in Kurdish politics since the 12th century. Jaff earned a Master's degree in International Relations from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from California State University. She also studied at Columbia University in New York, Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico, and Sorbonne University in Paris.
Humanitarian Work and Activism
Jaff is a tireless advocate for immigrants and refugees. She has volunteered extensively in Iraqi refugee camps, providing English language education and donating thousands of textbooks. In 2013, she organized the first Kurdish Festival in Mexico, the largest such event ever held outside Kurdistan. Jaff speaks at international conferences on human rights, immigration, peacebuilding, and education, raising awareness and inspiring action.
