Early Life and Career

Hannu Mänty is a Finnish politician who served as a Member of Parliament for the Finns Party and as Minister of Social Affairs and Health in the Sipilä Cabinet from 2015 to 2016.

Allegations of Fraud

In 2015, Mänty was investigated for suspected fraud in 2010, when she had allegedly sought state-funded legal aid worth several thousand euros. At the time, Mänty was in a common-law relationship with a wealthy man. She denied the allegations, and the charges were dismissed by the Lapland District Court due to the statute of limitations.

Minister of Social Affairs and Health

On May 29, 2015, Mänty was appointed Minister of Social Affairs and Health in the Sipilä Cabinet. She served in this role until August 24, when she resigned due to family reasons, including the serious illness of a loved one.
