Diagnosed with PCOS in 2007, Hannah's dream of starting a family seemed bleak. Along with her husband, Mike, they embarked on a years-long journey of fertility treatments, including four unsuccessful rounds of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).

An Unexpected Surprise

To the astonishment of Hannah's husband and doctors, joining a fitness class at Gymophobics in Ipswich proved to be her unexpected path to motherhood. Three years ago, she gave birth to their daughter, Nancy.

Yet Another Miracle

Despite medical skepticism, Hannah "gained weight" again and gave birth to another daughter, Dorothy. The couple's resilience and determination inspired Gymophobics to honor Hannah as their "Most Inspiring Member of the Year."

Emotional Impact of Infertility

"When I was first diagnosed with PCOS, I was devastated," Hannah recalls. "Having children felt like something that would happen naturally. I played with dolls as a child and always wanted to have my own children."

The Agony and Ecstasy of IVF

"Going through IVF was incredibly hard," Hannah confides. "It worked the second time around, but sadly I lost the baby. I think that was really hard for my husband too."

Confirming Pregnancy: A Moment of Disbelief

"I only did a pregnancy test the first time because a friend persuaded me to, as I was convinced it wouldn't work," Hannah explains. "I had to wake my husband up to show him the result, and he just couldn't believe it. Then I rang my GP, and she didn't believe me either."

Completing the Family

Nancy's arrival finally brought Hannah and Mike the joy of parenthood. "We were so lucky to have Nancy," Hannah says. "But we never thought we'd be lucky enough to have another."

Embracing Motherhood

"I always dreamt of having two children," Hannah continues. "They're two years apart, and it's just perfect. We have two happy, healthy girls, and we're in a really happy place as a family. We're not planning to have any more children, but who knows what life has in store?"
