Biography of Helena Paparizou

Early Life and Career with Antique

Elena Paparizou, a Greek pop singer, was born and raised in Sweden. From an early age, she was involved in dancing, singing, and acting. At the age of 17, Elena formed the group Antique with her friend Nikos. The group quickly signed a contract with Bonnier Studio in Sweden.

Success with Antique

Antique's debut single "Opa Opa" reached the top of the charts and became a gold record. The group released their debut album and participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2001, where they achieved third place. Antique went on to release several platinum albums and embarked on a European tour.

Solo Career

In 2003, Elena Paparizou decided to pursue a solo career and signed a contract with Sony Music. In December of that year, she released her first solo single "Anapandeetes Klisis," which was specially written for her by Christos Dantis. The single achieved gold status. In the spring of 2004, Elena released her first solo album "Protereotita."
